subcutaneous delivery1

  • DELIVERS

    levodopa-based therapy via a single infusion site1

  • REPLACES

all levodopa-containing medications and COMT inhibitors1*

  • BYPASSES

the gut, so consumption of food does not change absorption or systemic exposure of CD/LD1

Single infusion site. Carbidopa does not cross the blood-brain barrier.

*The maximum recommended daily dosage of VYALEV is 3525 mg of the foslevodopa component (equivalent to approximately 2500 mg levodopa). Prescribing a backup oral carbidopa and levodopa product is recommended in the event that delivery of VYALEV is interrupted, which may result in underdosing.1

VYALEV is continuously delivered morning, day, and night1,2

VYALEV pharmacokinetic (PK) profile: LD exposure over time

Graph showing average levodopa concentration consistency over time after beginning treatment with VYALEV up to 48 hours.

Study Design: Phase 1, single ascending-dose, single-blind, 72-hour study (48 hours shown) in 15 subjects (14 completed) with idiopathic, levodopa-responsive PD. Subjects were assigned to 1 of 4 dosing groups (ranging from 960 to 4800 mg of daily foslevodopa), and each dose was delivered as a bolus followed by CSCI at a constant rate. The average of all 4 dosing groups is presented here.*

Limitations: PK data were evaluated in early-phase clinical trials with a limited number of participants. PK data may not be representative of the general population, and clinical conclusions cannot be drawn.

2 hours.

In a phase 1 study of healthy volunteers,

steady-state

levodopa was achieved within 2 hours

when VYALEV was delivered as a loading dose followed by continuous infusion.1

With VYALEV, more “On” time without troublesome dyskinesia may be possible.1
